How Subscribers Are Counted

One of the main plan allocations is the number of allowed subscribers, this article aims to clarify how these are counted.

Please be aware that this article only applies to public Statuspage subscriptions.

Subscription types

  • Email: each email address is counted as a unique subscriber.
  • SMS: each phone number is counted as a unique subscriber.
  • Webhook: each webhook is counted as a unique subscriber.
  • RSS: RSS subscribers are not counted against your subscriber total.
  • Atom: Atom subscribers are not counted against your subscriber total.

Subscription States

Email subscriptions can be in 3 different states:

  • Active
  • Quarantined
  • Unconfirmed

The tabs of subscription types all show the total amount of subscribers for the individual types, so in the case of email subscriptions a sum of Active, Quarantined and Unconfirmed. All subscriber states are counted to show the total amount of subscribers within the tab, however only Active subscribers are counted against the total of subscribers allocated for your plan.

Quarantined and Unconfirmed subscribers are not counted against your plan's total.
