What is Statuspage?

Statuspage is a communication tool that helps teams keep their customers, users and employees in the loop about outages, system metrics, and planned maintenance.

Can Statuspage monitor my website/application/server?

No, Statuspage does not do any direct monitoring. We do have integrations with monitoring and alerting tools that allow you to automate the status of your components and display real-time system metrics.

Do you offer an on-premise version of Statuspage?

No, Statuspage is a cloud product.

I'm trying to add a user to my team but it says their email address is already taken. How do I get around that?

Team Member email addresses must be unique across the entire system. The email address you're trying to add is either already associated with an active account or they have signed up for their own trial account. Their are two options to get around this:

  1. Have the user contact our support team at hi@statuspage.io - upon their request, we can remove them from their existing account.

  2. Alternatively, you can use the "+" modifier in their email address. For example, if their email address is jake@acme.com, invite jake+page2@acme.com (the 'page2' can be replaced with whatever text you choose). The user will then receive an invite email to their email address, but they will be required to login using the "+" modifier version of their email address.

How do I change the Account Owner?

Only the existing account owner is able to change the account owner to someone else.

Can I have multiple pages under a single account or subscription?

You can have multiple pages under a single account, however, each page is associated with it's own monthly subscription and charged separately.

What is a subscriber?

A subscriber is someone who is signed up to receive incident notifications from your status page. On private pages, a user can have access to view your page, but that does not make them a subscriber.

I'm not getting any notifications when I update the status of my components. Why not?

Changes to components do not trigger any end-user SMS or Email notifications. Only incidents trigger notifications to end-user subscribers.

Can I pay annually for Statuspage? If so, is there a discount?

Yes, you can pay annually for Statuspage, however we do not offer any discounts for doing so, and there are a few requirements:

  1. While we can support credit card payments for all tiers of service, we can only accept ACH or Wire Transfer if your subscription is equivalent to the Business tier or higher ($399/mo): https://statuspage.io/pricing. Multiple pages can be combined to meet that minimum rate.

  2. A formally signed Annual Agreement will need to be put in place, agreeing to our terms of service.

  3. Payment must be made up front for the entire year of service.

What is the different between subscribers, team members, and employees?

  • Subscribers are end-users who have signed up to receive incident notifications from your status page.

  • Team Members are admin users who manage/admin the status page.

  • Employees are users who have access to view a private status page.

How are subscribers counted?

Only active subscribers are counted against your plan limit. Quarantined and unconfirmed subscribers are not counted against your limit.

What is the difference between a "Component" and a "Showcased Component"?

You can think of a component as a piece of your application or infrastructure like your API, mobile app, or website. There is no limit to the number of components that you can have. We do, however, limit the number of components which you can "showcase". Showcased components are components which you have enabled to show the historical uptime/downtime.

What size should my logo be?

We suggest using an image that’s exactly 340 x 36 (the exact size of the image container) or a multiple of that. If you’re on a retina display, then it'll be crisper if you use 640x72. Browser scaling is pretty unpredictable in terms of how sharp the image/logo will appear, but the closer you get to the size of the image container, the better it will be.
